NUECES COUNTY FUGITIVE ARRESTED IN BROWNSVILLE, TEXASAndrew R. Bland III, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Houston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Ruben Monson, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Texas, and Bryan Smith, Chief of the Corpus Christi Police Department, announce the arrest of Nueces fugitive John Henry Ramirez, 23, of Corpus Christi, Texas. Ramirez was arrested earlier today in Brownsville, Texas by agents of the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Corpus Christi Police officers and Brownsville Police officers assigned to the United States Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. On September 10, 2004, agents assigned to the Houston Division of the FBI, Corpus Christi Residency Agency, obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant in the Southern District of Texas for the arrest of Ramirez. On October 7, 2004, Ramirez was charged in Nueces County, Texas, with one count of Capital Murder and two counts of aggravated robbery. The charges resulted from the investigation by the Corpus Christi Police Department for the death of Pablo Castro, 46, which occurred at the Times Market Square located at 1902 Baldwin Boulevard in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 19, 2004. Ramirez will be held at the Nueces County Jail.
