“ARMED BANDIT AND GETAWAY CAR CAPTURED IN BANK SURVEILLANCE PHOTOS”The Houston FBI Bank Robbery Task Force needs the public’s assistance in identifying the armed bandit who held up the Chase Bank Monday while toting a large, silver semi-automatic pistol. Bank surveillance cameras captured pictures of the armed bandit who did not wear any disguise during the robbery. The surveillance photographs also snapped a picture of the robber’s getaway car. At approximately 12:47PM, the armed bandit walked into the Chase Bank located at 600 McGowen in Houston, Texas. He waited in a teller line until the only other customer in the bank completed his transaction. When that customer left the bank, the armed bandit approached the teller and handed her a brown paper bag with a demand note written on the outside. He also pulled out a handgun, placed it on the counter and pointed it at the teller. Fearing for her life, the teller complied with his demand for money and placed it inside the brown paper bag. The robber told the teller to hurry, grabbed the bag and quickly walked out of the bank. He was last seen driving off in a black four-door sedan. The armed bandit is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 5’09”- 6’, with a medium build and a dark complexion. He was cleanly shaven and wore a grey L.A. Dodgers baseball cap, grey t-shirt and black nylon wind pants. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this bank robber. If you have any information regarding this case, please call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 713-222-TIPS (8477), or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
