"Jailbird" Commits Aggressive Bank Robbery in Houston
The FBI Bank Robbery
Task Force is seeking the public's assistance in identifying "Jailbird",
a bank robber already wearing prison stripes despite his still being at
large.
On Monday, October
29, 2007, at approximately 3:35 PM, "Jailbird" entered the Washington
Mutual Bank at 3003 South Loop West in Houston, Texas, and walked directly
to two open tellers. He threw a bag onto the counter, and waved a pistol
at them as he demanded they put the money into the bag. "Jailbird"
then told the tellers to get down on the floor, which they did, as he
grabbed the bag and exited the bank.
A security guard
followed "Jailbird" to the parking lot, and saw him get into
a newer model black Kia Sportage, and drive off on the service road of
the South Loop. He was then seen making a u-turn under the South Loop
at Buffalo Speedway.
"Jailbird"
is described as a black male, age 25-30, 5-10" to 6-01", heavy
set build, clean shaven, with a short afro style haircut. He was wearing
a black and white baseball cap, a dark purple and white striped pullover
tee shirt, and dark jeans. The bag he used in the robbery was purple and
black. He pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at tellers.
Crime Stoppers is
offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the charging and arrest
of "Jailbird", or any felony suspect. If you have any information
regarding this case, contact the FBI at 713-693-5000, or Crime Stoppers
at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
