“THE COUNT” ROBS HEIGHTS BANK

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a bank robbery suspect.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2007, “The Count” entered the Compass Bank at 204 W. 19 th Street, in the Heights area of Houston, and approached a teller. He handed the teller a note demanding money, and told her that if she did not give him money he was going to do something to her. Like the Sesame Street character of the same name, “The Count” then menacingly began to count backwards from ten. The teller, fearing what would happen as the count approached number one, removed the cash from her drawer and handed it over to “The Count.” He grabbed the money and his note and attempted to leave. He was chased out the door by another employee, and he was observed fleeing in a dark blue Dodge Durango.

“The Count” is described as a black male, 35-40, 5’06” to 5’08” tall, 180-190 pounds, average build with a pot belly, dark complexion, short hair, and possibly having facial hair in the form of a goatee. He was wearing a blue or black baseball cap, a gray shirt, and faded blue jeans.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the charging and arrest of “The Count”, or any felony suspect. If you have any information regarding this case, contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 713-222-8477 or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
