(CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas) – A former employee of Falfurrias State Bank, Guadalupe Cisneros Garza, 40, has been sentenced to prison for embezzlement by a bank employee, United States Attorney Don DeGabrielle announced today. At a sentencing hearing before United States District Judge Harry Lee Hudspeth, Garza was sentenced to four months in federal prison. Following her release from prison, Garza will remain under the supervision of the court for an additional three years. She was also ordered to pay restitution of $27,000 to the bank. Garza pleaded guilty last October. During that plea, Garza admitted that while she was employed by Falfurrias State Bank in Falfurrias, Texas, she stole approximately $27,000.00 in cash from the bank’s vault. No customer accounts were affected. The case was investigated by agents from the FBI and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert D. Thorpe Jr.
