TX -- United States Attorney John L. Ratcliffe announced today that
a 27-year-old Port Arthur man has been sentenced to 117 months in federal
prison for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas.
MARCELLUS-JON ROWRY pleaded guilty on June 18, 2007 to bank robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of that crime. He was sentenced today by United States District Judge Thad Heartfield. According to information presented in court, Rowry was armed with a semi-automatic pistol when he robbed the Chase Bank located at 2150 Highway 365 in Nederland, Texas on November 30, 2006. This case was
investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Nederland
Police Department and the Groves Police Department. This case was
prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert L. Hobbs.
