The RA territory is predominately rural with an agricultural economic base. In addition, the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries influence the territory's economy. Other major economic influences in this territory are Texas A&M University, located in College Station, and the numerous financial institutions in Bryan, which is considered the banking and financial center of the "Brazos Valley" region.
